San Juan Popular Center, San Juan, Puerto RicoNov 12th, 2023 Travesía presented 34 paintings by Fernando Bonnin at the Centro Popular de Hato Rey, highlighting the renewal and transformation of Puerto Rican culture. The exhibition, delayed by the pandemic and earthquakes, marked five years of Bonnin's creative career. His vibrantly colored abstract works, mainly oil on acrylic, evoke the colors and spirit of the tropics, offering a vision of energy and joy he holds even under challenging times. In an interview with El Nuevo Día, Bonnin described his work as a "literary interpretation" of the Puerto Rican landscape, using technique and texture to explore his unique vision. Dedicated to his mother, Pilar, Travesía represented an example of the collaborative spirit of the Puerto Rican artistic community. It had the support of painter Antonio Martorell, who wrote the Prologue of the book FR Bonnin, which came to public light during the event.
